Woman Killed in South Austin Motorcycle Accident

A Texas woman is dead after an Austin motorcycle accident, which occurred last Saturday at around 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Manchaca Road and Valley View Road.
Vicki Renee Fussell, 46, was riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Manchaca road when a blue Scion SUV traveling westbound on Valley View Road failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, turning onto Manchaca Road in front of Fussell.
The illegal turn caused Fussell to sideswipe the Scion, ejecting her from her motorcycle. She was taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge with life-threatening injuries, but was pronounced dead hours later.
None of the three occupants of the Scion were injured in the crash, and the driver said they never saw the motorcycle. Fussell was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Police do not suspect that alcohol or excessive speed was involved in the accident, but charges may still be filed. Our sympathies go out to all of those affected by this accident.
