Two Students Injured in Texas SUV Rollover Accident

Posted on Sep 24, 2010

Two Angelo State University (ASU) students were injured earlier this month in a SUV rollover accident in Concho County, Texas.

Leah Delynn LeMaire and Ashley Caroline Miller, 20, both basketball players on the ASU team, were driving west on Farm-to-Market Road 765 when Miller, the driver, swerved to avoid a cow in the road.

Their SUV then went into a ditch on the left side of the road before Miller overcorrected to the right. The vehicle rolled over several times before ending upside down in the opposite ditch.

LeMarie, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and landed in the road. She suffered serious injuries in the crash. Miller, who had her seat belt on, stayed in the vehicle as it rolled and came out with only minor injuries.

The two teammates were headed from Brownwood to San Angelo when the wreck occurred. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this accident.
