Tractor-Trailer Wreck Closes North-Loop Eastex Ramp in Houston

A single-vehicle Texas 18-wheeler accident in Houston on Wednesday closed parts of two major freeways in the area this week.

A tractor-trailer truck was traveling on the ramp of the 610 North Loop over the Eastex Freeway (US 59) when the big rig toppled onto its side around 12:15 p.m.

The load the truck was carrying spilled onto the ramp and fell down onto a portion of the Eastex Freeway. Officials were forced to close portions of both freeways.   Police do not yet know what caused the original crash, though an unsecured load could have contributed to the turnover. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

Emergency crews cleaned up the crash within hours. Our thoughts are with all of those affected or inconvenienced by this accident.
