"Swanggin" driver shot & killed in SE Houston by disgruntled driver
Posted on Jan 04, 2012
Houston car accident attorneys pass along an account of rough vigilante justice in SE Houston as we begin the new year. KHOU reported that a driver in a Buick who had been careening in and out of lanes (or "swanggin," as it's informally called) received the ultimate penalty for that dangerous behavior on Tuesday from someone in another car affected by the swanggin.
A driver in a Dodge Magnum that had been behind the offending Buick turned the corner at Ward and Cullen in SE Houston along with the Buick. Then about 10 shots were fired from the Dodge into the Buick, hitting the Buick's driver.
The Buick's driver was able to continue for about three blocks, and then pulled over. He managed to get out of the Buick, but then toppled over. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. Police are now looking for information on the Dodge Magnum. A woman riding in the Buick remained uninjured by the multiple gunshots.
The Houston car accident attorneys at Denena & Points convey their sympathies to the survivors of the Buick driver who died from the shooting in SE Houston. Our sympathies also go out to the woman in the Buick who experienced the trauma of the unexpected vigilante attack.
