Suspected DWI Behind Fatal Houston, TX Single-Vehicle Rollover Wreck

Saturday around 8 p.m. on Halloween weekend, a Ford Explorer ran a red light on Market Street at East Loop in east Houston, TX. The driver lost control of his vehicle and ran the Ford Explorer up into the median. The vehicle rolled over and partially ejected the driver, who hit his head on the guardrail and on the road during the rollover wreck. Officials pronounced the driver dead at the scene of the rollover wreck.
Police said that the Ford Explorer smelled of alcohol, and that several beer bottles were inside the vehicle. The coroner will test the victim's blood alcohol level. The male victim who died from his injuries in the rollover wreck was not identified in news reports.
