Spring, TX Woman Dies in Underride Accident with Big Rig

Mid-afternoon on Sunday, September 11, 2011, a 21-year-old woman from Spring, TX died when her gold Toyota Camry struck the rear of a tractor-trailer truck. The fatal underride accident occurred in the 800 block of the Sam Houston Parkway service road near Green Crossing. The woman's car, traveling eastbound, slid under the big rig from the rear. Authorities did not release the woman's name. LifeFlight carried the 21-year-old woman to the Memorial Hermann medical complex in Houston, which pronounced her dead. Police reported no other injuries from this fatal underride accident. Accounts of the fatal underride accident report witnesses as stating that the woman "appeared to be driving fast and looking down" before the fatal wreck occurred.
