Splendora high school senior Eduardo Garza dies in Kingwood truck crash
Posted on Feb 16, 2012
The Houston truck crash attorneys at Denena & Points were troubled to learn of the untimely loss of a Splendora high school senior to a truck rear-end crash in Kingwood on Valentine's Day. The tragic accident happened around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 23000 block of the Eastex Freeway.
Eduardo Garza, 18, was driving northbound in his silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. A white Isuzu flatbed tractor-trailer truck up ahead of him was slowing down in the center lane and preparing to pull over because of a blown tire. Mr. Garza did not slow down to avoid the Isuzu truck, and crashed into the rear of it at high speed.
Houston firefighters needed to use heavy equipment to cut Mr. Garza from his vehicle. The Splendora teen suffered severe head trauma in the Kingwood truck crash. He received transport to LBJ hospital where he was pronounced dead. Accident investigators indicated that the truck driver was not at fault in the accident, though it is not yet clear why Mr. Garza failed to slow down to avoid the slowing Isuzu truck.
The Houston truck crash attorneys at Denena & Points feel sincere sympathy for the friends and family of Mr. Eduardo Garza. It's troubling to consider that they lost this Splendora high school senior on Valentine's Day, which should be a day of joy rather than sadness. That he should suffer his tragic accident just months away from graduation is even more devastating. Our hearts go out to you, and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
