Samuel Wayne Meyers of Mathis, TX Perishes in Truck Rollover Accident

Samuel Wayne Meyers, 51, of Mathis tragically lost his life late Friday night in a single-vehicle truck rollover accident in Atascosa County. The 2006 Freightliner truck he was driving started to veer off the roadway around two miles west of FM 2924 on FM 791. Mr. Meyers tried to pull the truck, hauling a tanker trailer, back to safety. But he overcorrected the truck's trajectory, and the truck overturned in a fatal rollover wreck. Mr. Meyers lost his life in the attempt to correct the truck's course.
