Novartis recalls bottles of Excedrin, Bufferin, NoDoz, and Gas-X
Posted on Jan 08, 2012
Houston product defect lawyers relay some important recall news from Novartis. The Swiss pharmaceuticals manufacturer has issued a recall on some of the Excedrin, Bufferin, NoDoz, and Gas-X medications manufactured at its Lincoln, NE plant. Novartis says that no users of the product have yet reported anomalies or injuries relating to the products.
The company says that it found potential problems during an internal review. The problems consisted of broken and chipped pills, and inconsistent package labeling that could cause a product mix-up. Novartis says it's issuing the recall to avoid endangering product users that might have allergies or adverse reactions to the other medications.
Of course, if you're in need of NoDoz, you don't want to find that you've taken Gas-X instead. And vice versa.
The products affected by the Novartis recall comprise some bottles of Excedrin and NoDoz with expiration dates on or before December 20, 2014, and some bottles of Bufferin and Gas-X with expiration dates on or before December 20, 2013. The company said it would post more information on its website www.novartisOTC.com and that customers could also call 888-477-2403 with questions M-F, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. The company is suspending production at the Lincoln, NE plant to undertake maintenance and other improvements.
