Motorcyclist Dies after a Collision

A thirty-eight-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a Honda Accord in Austin on June 15, 2010. The motorcyclist, Paul Hernandez, was driving behind the Honda in the 5500 block of Emerald Forest Drive when the car slowed to make a left turn. Hernandez hit the vehicle from behind. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Hernandez sustained serious injuries and received medical treatment at University Medical Center Brackenridge. He died two days after the accident. The driver of the Honda did not sustain any injuries. A blood test revealed that Hernandez had a blood alcohol level of .24. Vehicular homicide detectives are looking into the cause of the accident.
