Man Killed in Houston Motorcycle Accident

Posted on Sep 08, 2010

One Texas resident is dead after a car-motorcycle wreck in Houston, TX. The accident occurred at about 7:45 on Tuesday, August 31.

53-year-old James Adams, a resident of Porter, TX, was driving his black Yamaha motorcycle in Houston when a white Chevrolet Impala turned directly into his bike's path.

Adams was traveling north on North Main Street when he collided with the other car. He was pronounced dead later in the day at Ben Taub General Hospital.

The driver of the Impala that caused the accident was a 24-year-old male who has not been identified. He was given a blood test at the time of the wreck, but it is not known whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.

This accident is another somber reminder of the dangers of riding a motorcycle on Houston's busy city streets. Drivers, who may be distracted from driving, often fail to see motorcycles on the road, causing serious or fatal wrecks.

Our sympathies go out to all of those affected by this accident. We hope the ongoing investigation reveals some answers about the incident.
