Juan Antonio Guzman of Benavides, TX Dead in Head-on Two-Truck Crash

Two heavy-duty Chevrolet pickup trucks crashed this weekend in Bee County in a nearly head-on collision. The fatal two-truck crash occurred on State Highway 72 about a mile east of Pawnee. A DPS trooper stated that the driver of one of the Chevrolet pickup trucks drifted into oncoming traffic just before 7 a.m. Juan Antonio Guzman, the driver reported as not at fault for the accident, died at the hospital following the two-truck crash. Mr. Guzman was from Benavides, TX.
Three occupants of each of the two trucks received transport to area hospitals in critical condition. The driver at fault in the fatal two-truck crash is named as Devin Lanier of Portland, TX.
According to news reports, the DPS trooper handling the Bee County two-truck crash says that Lanier will probably only be issued a traffic citation for the fatal collision, since drugs and alcohol were not involved in the wreck.
Our condolences go out to the family of Juan Antonio Guzman, and our sympathies to those hospitalized in critical condition from this wreck.
