Houston, TX News: B.O.B. Jogging Strollers Recalled for Choking Hazard
Posted on Oct 11, 2011
News reports in Houston, TX announced that nearly half a million of the B.O.B. jogging strollers so popular with young Houston mothers have been recalled by the manufacturer, B.O.B. Trailers.
The CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) says that the choking hazard to infants and toddlers results from a loose, embroidered logo patch on the jogging stroller's canopy. Reportedly, several children have suffered gagging and choking from mouthing the detached logo patches. The CPSC advises parents to remove the defective logo patches completely from the stroller before using the jogging strollers.
The recall affects more than 25,000 strollers sold in Canada. The remainder of the strollers affected by the recall were sold in the U.S. from November 1998 to October 2011. Babies R Us, REI, and other stores nationwide sold the popular jogging strollers.
If you have one of the recalled strollers, please remove the loose logo patch at once (if it hasn't already come off on its own). If your child has suffered injury because of the defect in the stroller, we sympathize. As a Houston parent, you want the products you buy for your child to be safe for the intended use. Feel free to call us for a free legal consultation if your child was hurt because of a defective product.
