Houston news accounts report that a mother backing out of her driveway in a black Ford Expedition suffered a tragic loss when her little daughter, 4 years old, suddenly ran behind the big vehicle. The accident happened at 2335 Cumberland Oak Court on Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m. The Ford Expedition struck the child, who received transport on a LifeFlight Helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The young girl, whose name was not released in news reports, suffered fatal injuries in the driveway backover accident. According to witness accounts, the mother was backing out of her driveway when the 4-year-old dashed directly behind the Ford Expedition. The Houston PD is investigating the accident.
