Posted on Nov 11, 2010
A Texas man was killed on Friday, November 5, 2010, in a fiery crash in southwest Houston. The accident occurred on U.S. 59 service road around 11:50 p.m.
The 28-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, was driving his red Ford Explorer southbound in the 3500 block of Barrington, where the street curves sharply to become Windswept Lane.
The man was unable to make the sharp curve, instead careening off the road and crashing through a guard rail and a nearby freeway sound barrier. The SUV caught fire after coming to a stop, and the man died on the scene.
A police investigation into the accident is still ongoing, and it remains unclear if outstanding circumstances were present at the time of the crash.
Our condolences go out to all of those involved in this fatal wreck.
