Posted on Dec 08, 2011
The Houston accident attorneys at Denena and Points were troubled to hear of a tragic, fatal accident on the ship channel. A moving crane at the Barbours Cut Terminal on the Houston ship channel trapped a worker underneath just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday when it moved and severed his legs. The man, whose name was not released, received rushed transport to Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena, TX. The unfortunate worker died at the hospital from his crane accident injuries.
According to Joe Trevino of the International Longshoreman's Association, the man had been working at the terminal when the crane began to move and trapped him underneath. Joe Trevino said that the crane is designed to move and that the fatal event seemed to be an accident.
Tony Denena and Chad Points extend our deepest sympathies to the family members of the Barbours Cut Terminal worker who suffered such a tragic and horrific accident while at work. We understand the magnitude of your loss and the devastation you must be suffering. Our hearts go out to you.
