Houston Rear End Collision Sends Two to Hospital

Early this morning, an HPD officer and the driver of a vehicle she had pulled over were injured when a U-haul van, driven by a person whose license was suspended, veered out of control and slammed into the back of the police cruiser on the shoulder of a Houston freeway. Authorities say the officer's lights were activated. The driver of the vehicle pulled over by the HPD officer was in the back seat of the police cruiser at the moment of impact. The officer, the other driver, and the driver and passenger of the U-haul van were all taken to local hospitals to be evaluated.
These types of rear-end collisions are all too common on Houston freeways.
