Houston Police Seek Information on S. Post Oak Bridge Fatal Hit & Run
Posted on Oct 17, 2011
Near 3 a.m. on Sunday, the South Post Oak Bridge formed the scene of a fatal hit and run accident. A man behind the wheel of a white Hyundai Tiburon containing at least two other people hit a median and damaged his left front tire. The tire damage happened on the South Post Oak Bridge over Main Street.
The man stopped the car at the top of the bridge to change the tire. A female passenger of the Hyundai, apparently concerned about the safety of stopping the car in traffic to change the tire, argued with the man and left the vehicle. The man began kicking the car and the tire blown by striking the median. Then, according to the female passenger, he walked into another lane of the road where a van struck the man, causing fatal injuries.
The driver of the van stopped, asked another passenger of the white Hyundai to call 911, and then left the scene. The driver of the van in the fatal vehicle accident faces potential felony charges for the failure to stop and render aid. Houston police request anyone with information about the fatal hit and run accident to call Houston PD or Crime Stoppers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who now suffer because of the tragic loss of the man's life in this Houston hit and run accident. We hope that the van driver is found and held accountable for this fatal tragedy.
