Houston Police Car Rolls Over During Chase

A Houston Police Department squad car flipped over on the Gulf Freeway last week after it was cut off by another vehicle.
The officer in the squad car, heading north on the freeway just before noon to catch up with a speeding driver, was cut off by a pickup truck that pulled into his lane.
The officer hit the rear end of the truck, hit a retaining wall at the edge of the freeway, and then rolled over completely before coming to a halt upright.
The officer, who sustained only minor injuries, was taken to Bed Taub Hospital for examination. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
Police have not said if they will ticket the driver of the truck in the accident. The officer did not have his lights on at the time of the crash.
