Houston Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves One Dead
Posted on Mar 13, 2011
A hit-and-run accident killed one on Saturday in northeast Houston, and police are still investigating the crash.
A woman, whose name has not been released, was walking on the shoulder of Aldine-Bender near Marine just after 2 a.m. when she was struck and killed by a car.
A witness took down a license plate number of a maroon-colored 1999 Mercury van that he thought may have been involved in the deadly accident. Police have followed up on the lead, but haven't found anything conclusive yet.
Our sympathies go out to all of those involved in the crash, as well as the family and friends of the woman who was killed. We hope that accidents like these will bring to light the dangers of car-pedestrian crashes and make people more cautious.
