Harris County Deputy Constable Injured After Being Hit By Another Driver

A Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable was injured after her squad car was struck in a Houston car wreck this week. The accident happened Wednesday morning on the Katy Freeway (I-10) near the Gessner Road exit.

According to police, the deputy constable was injured when another vehicle rear-ended her squad car, which was pulled to the side of the freeway. The driver of the other vehicle may have been intoxicated.

The deputy constable was removed from the wrecked squad car by firefighters on the scene. She was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.   The deputy constable sustained injuries to her shoulder and back in the crash, but her injuries were not life threatening.

The four eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 were shut down for a few hours on Wednesday for cleanup and investigation into the accident.
