Four killed in head-on collision in Wise County

A devastating accident in Wise County claimed the life of four victims early Saturday morning along a rural Texas highway.
Texas Public Safety Trooper Lonny Haschell said the head-on collision happened at 3:15 a.m. on FM 730 about six miles northeast of Decatur. The crash occurred when the driver of a Ford-F350 pickup collided with a southbound Ford Mustang traveling the wrong way on a two-lane road.
Four passengers of the Ford Mustang were declared dead on the scene. The driver of the car was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital and treated for serious burns and injuries. Haschell said some of the victims were teenagers.
The driver of the pickup truck was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Wise Regional Health System and treated for only minor injuries. The names of the parties involved have not been released.
