Ford Recall Announced for Certain 2001 F-650 Trucks for Steering Arm
Posted on Jan 18, 2012
Galveston car defect lawyers inform our readers that Ford Motor Company has announced an urgent recall on some of its 2011 Ford F-650 trucks. The Ford recall relates to the 2011 Ford F-650s manufactured from February 2, 2011 through February 17, 2011 that were equipped with a Meritor MFS08 front steering axle.
The Ford recall states that the bolts that attach the steering arm of the truck to the steering knuckle were not adequately tightened. The attachment defect might result in sudden looseness or separation of the steering arm, which could cause loss of steering control and a potentially deadly crash.
Ford Motor Company says that it will notify owners of the dangerous defect. The Ford recall further specifies that Ford dealers will inspect the steering arm and steering knuckle and repair the vehicles as needed without charge. Concerned Ford F-650 owners can contact the company at 866-436-7332.
