Fatal Montgomery County Highway Crash at 105 and Fostoria Kills 2

The Montgomery County highway crash attorneys of Denena and Points were deeply saddened to hear of a two-vehicle wreck that claimed two lives and severely injured three other people, including a young child on Friday around 11 a.m. In the fatal Montgomery County highway crash, a Toyota Previa van failed to yield right of way to a Ford F-150 pickup towing a gooseneck trailer at the intersection of Texas Highway 105 and Fostoria Road.
The crash impact crushed the driver's side of the 1997 Toyota Previa van. Juan Valentin Gante, 34, the driver of the van, died at the scene of the two-vehicle wreck along with one of his passengers, Maria Gomez, 38. Both victims were from Houston.
Two other passengers, 3-year-old Monica Gomez and 34-year-old Marisela Gomez, were trapped in the wreck until rescue crews could free them. Once freed, the two critically injured passengers received transport to area hospitals for critical injuries.
The driver of the Ford F-150 pickup truck, 67-year-old Richard Johnson of Cleveland, TX, was trapped in his truck by the wreck when the gooseneck trailer jack-knifed and impacted the driver's side of the Ford. Once freed from the vehicle, LifeFlight took him to the hospital in critical condition from his crash injuries.
Troopers closed Texas Highway 105 for the bulk of the afternoon while they investigated the fatal Montgomery County highway crash. An autopsy was ordered on the deceased victims of the wreck. Accounts of the accident say that all involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts at the time of the wreck.
