Fatal Hit-and-Run Accidents Claim Lives of 2 Men in Houston, TX

A hit-and-run pedestrian-car accident at 4400 West Sam Houston Parkway on Saturday at about 2:30 a.m. took the life of a 23-year-old man. Authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene of the accident. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working on verifying the man's identity.
Officers from the Houston PD's Vehicular Crimes Unit said that witnesses reported that the male victim had been standing in a moving lane of traffic on West Sam Houston Parkway when a gray Chevy Suburban struck him. Then another vehicle struck the man. Reports did not provide the make or model of the second vehicle. Neither driver of the 2 vehicles that struck the victim stopped to render aid. Houston PD asks that anyone with further information on the West Dam Houston Parkway accident contact the HPD Hit-and-Run Unit.
Another hit-and-run incident at about 2:30 a.m. on October 3rd took the life of a 48-year-old man. The hit-and-run accident occurred in the 11900 block of the East Freeway service road. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to verify the man's identity.
According to Houston PD officers who responded to the scene, a witness reported that the man had just run out of a business parking lot nearby. The man ran into the westbound service road lanes where a green pickup truck hit him as he reached the far left lane. The driver of the green pickup truck did not stop to render aid, and continued westbound on the service road.
Authorities pronounced the victim of the hit-and-run dead at the scene. Houston police ask anyone with further information about the accident or the location of the pickup's driver to contact the Vehicular Crimes Unit.
