Posted on Aug 08, 2011
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on August 4, 2011, an 18-wheeler on Interstate 30 near Fort Worth drifted off the road, rolled over the median, broke through a guardrail, and crashed into a pylon supporting a bridge over the Interstate. The crash destroyed the concrete bridge pylon. 13-year-old Hector Hernandez, a soccer player from McKinney, TX died in the impact. He was a passenger, asleep in his father's truck at the time of the wreck.
This terrible accident has no doubt devastated the Hernandez family. We grieve with the Hernandez family and offer condolences for their devastating loss. One can only imagine the pain Mr. Hernandez must suffer. Reports say that authorities are investigating what caused the truck to drift off course and crash in the fatal 18-wheeler accident that so tragically cost this young man his life.
When the investigation is complete, we fear that authorities could find that truck driver fatigue caused this tragic, fatal 18-wheeler accident.
