Car-Van Crash Sends 15 to Hospital

A collision between a car and van in Houston sent 15 people to the hospital this week, but did not result in any fatalities. The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A vehicle driven by an as yet unidentified driver slammed into the side of a van near the Texas Medical Center, sending it rolling over onto its side. More than a dozen people were inside.

"A motor vehicle ran into the side of a 16-passenger van that was pretty well loaded full of special needs adults. Vehicle rolled one time; miraculously everyone escaped with minor injuries," Senior Fire Capt. Carl Moore said.

The injured passengers in the van were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston on a METRO bus. Police have not yet said if they will ticket the driver of the other car.

Our thoughts are with all of those injured in the crash. We are glad that no one was more seriously injured.
