Car Breaks Apart After Houston Drunk Driving Crash

Posted on Mar 27, 2011

Cars are often crushed or totaled in Texas car accidents. However, last week, one almost completely disintegrated after a violent single-vehicle collision.

The wreck happened late last week on the North Freeway and New Haven in North Houston. Police say it was a one-car wreck caused by drunk driving.

The driver of a Mustang was speeding down the feeder when he lost control of the vehicle and swerved off the road. The car ran straight into a local business sign, sending parts of the car in every direction.

The engine and other components scattered one way. The shell of the car scattered in another. And the seats carrying the driver and his passenger went another.

The woman passenger was thrown out of her seat, while the driver remained in his, skidding and sliding across the parking lot. Amazingly, both were transported conscious and alert to a local hospital.

Our thoughts are with all of those injured or affected by this crash. We wish to remind everyone the dangers of drunk driving, and urge our readers to never do it.
