A Wrong-Way Driver Crashes into Another Vehicle in Houston

A driver died in a Houston car accident after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 45. The car wreck occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on the Gulf Freeway near the U.S. and the Texas 288 interchange. According to the police, the driver of a white Honda Civic was driving in the wrong direction in a southbound lane on the freeway.
The Honda crashed into a Chevrolet Blazer traveling on the Texas 288 exit ramp. The driver of the Honda did not survive the wreck. An ambulance took the driver of the Blazer to Ben Taub General Hospital for treatment. The police are unsure why the driver of the Honda was traveling in the wrong direction. It took approximately three hours for workers to clean up the freeway and reopen inbound lanes to drivers.
