4-Year-Old Boy Crossing with Guard Struck by Car at MLK School
Posted on Dec 01, 2011
Wednesday before 9:00 a.m. a car struck a 4-year-old boy that was crossing the street in the company of a parent and a crossing guard. The accident occurred at W. Fuqua and White Heather in front of the MLK Early Childhood Center.
An HISD spokesperson says that the boy received no major injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Authorities are investigating the accident, and will determine whether the 76-year-old driver will be cited or charged for the car - pedestrian accident. The driver says she didn't the boy (or presumably the mother or the crossing guard). 3 people seem hard to miss seeing.
The Houston accident attorneys at Denena & Points sympathize with the young boy who faced such a traumatic start to a school day. We wish him a full and rapid recovery from any injuries. As parents ourselves, we also greatly sympathize with the parent who must have experienced a devastating shock at the moment of the accident.
One of the worst things for a parent is to witness a child suffering an accident or injury. The moment of uncertainty when one isn't sure if the child is safe seems to go on forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your child.
