1-year-old Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

A one-year-old child was killed last weekend when a Ford F-150 in Galveston County struck him in front of his home last weekend, according to authorities.
The 16-year-old driver has been charged with accident involving serious bodily injury or death following the accident at around 6:00 PM Sunday evening.
According to the police, the baby sustained serious head injuries and died on the scene. The driver who struck the child left the scene and could not be immediately identified.
Eyewitnesses told investigators a dark-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck had struck the child, and then drove off. Police later determined that the teenage suspect was a close relative of the dead child. He was arrested and detained after police found him at his home.
