One man is dead and two are injured after a Houston, TX-area car accident. The two-vehicle wreck occurred in the 22700 block section of the Eastex Freeway near Kingwood Drive at about 2:00 AM on Sunday.
The victim of the accident, a 51-year-old man driving a gold Toyota Tundra pickup truck northbound on the freeway, collided with a white Dodge Ram pickup also driving north. His Toyota flipped onto its driver's side.
The man had to be cut from his vehicle by emergency response workers, and died a short time later. His name has not been released by the police, as his next of kin has not yet been notified.
The driver and passenger in the Dodge Ram, a mother and her young daughter, sustained injuries in the crash and were taken to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. The severity of their injuries is not yet known.
The cause of the accident is still a mystery, and a police investigation into the wreck is ongoing. It is not clear if alcohol or drugs were involved.
Our sympathies go out to all of those affected by this accident.
