TxDOT campaign aims to curb Texas drunk driving without curbing your holiday fun

The campaign runs from December 1, 2011 through January 1, 2012. TxDOT commercials feature partying reindeer and a peeved Santa who's not too happy about reindeer that drink and drive.

An interactive "31 Days of Holiday Cheer" calendar has Santa and his helpers providing holiday games, recipes, and tips for a festive holiday. The message throughout is to have a happy and wonderful holiday, but plan a sober ride.

TxDOT says that in an average year, more than 2,400 alcohol-related crashes occur on Texas roads during the holiday season, taking an enormous toll in lives and serious injuries. TxDOT reminds you that those injuries or that lost life could be yours.
