What are some of the common causes of truck accidents?

A: Because of the size and weight of commercial trucks, truck accidents can result in more serious injuries than those sustained in accidents involving passenger vehicles. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration reported in 2005 that accidents involving trucks caused 114,000 injuries and 5,212 deaths. In most cases, the passengers in the vehicle sustained more serious injuries than the truck drivers, and were more likely to die from injuries sustained in the accident.
