One person is dead and another critically injured after an oncoming freight train in a Liberty County accident hit their vehicle over the weekend. The driver of the vehicle ignored the warning of the railroad crossing arm, and tried to drive around.

The vehicle - train accident occurred on Highway 90 near FM 1909 on Friday around 4:30 p.m. 16-year-old William James Hotaling died at the scene of the train accident. The other person, 20-year-old driver John Kolin Allison, received transport to the hospital by helicopter. He received critical injuries from the collision with the freight train.
