Spring Break is a Dangerous Time due to Drinking and Driving

Spring break is upon us, bringing with it an exodus of thousands of college students to the coast and surrounding islands in Texas. Partying and carousing is sure to soon ensue.

However, as everyone has the freedom to do with their breaks as they wish, it is crucial that all people taking spring break in the area do so responsibly. In other words, it is imperative that they drink responsibly, never getting behind the wheel when they've had one too many.

The reality is that the incidence of Texas car accidents goes up during spring break time, as a result of not only more people in the area, but also the increasing amount of drivers who are distracted or even intoxicated.

The research is clear: drunk driving is dangerous. Drunk drivers react slowly to oncoming dangers and may veer into other vehicles. They can easily cause Texas car wrecks that may have serious consequences for those involved.

If you are partying on spring break in Texas, it is absolutely crucial that you do so safely. Make a pledge never to drive if you have had anything to drink, opting instead to make safe arrangements to stay at a hotel or friend's house. Call a cab if you have trouble getting home.

If you are not involved in Texas's spring break, but find yourself driving among others who are, it is important that you drive with caution. Assume that others are not driving safely, and keep your eyes peeled at all times for dangers that can pop up at any moment.

If you or a loved one has been involved in a Texas car crash that was caused by a negligent driver, call us immediately. You may be able to recover damages from the wreck, but will likely be left with less than you deserve if you fail to take action as soon as possible.
